Andrew Hillig is a Lean Six Sigma Specialist for Covenant Healthcare in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Andrew is currently studying for his MBA, with an emphasis on Management, at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. While Andrew’s background is in Clinical Laboratory Science, Andrew has a specialized interest in implementing the principles of Lean Six Sigma in Healthcare. In September of 2004, Andrew and four other members of the Covenant Laboratory and Midwest Clinical Laboratories staff became the pioneering leaders of the Lean Six Sigma initiative at Covenant Healthcare. The team received their training from a Certified Lean Implementation Trainer from Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson and Johnson company. Currently, Andrew and the Lean Six Sigma team at Covenant Healthcare are implementing the principles of Lean Six Sigma in all clinical laboratory settings, while training teams of implementers as well. Currently, Andrew is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and is preparing for the Six Sigma Black Belt certification exam. Andrew is also a student affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). |
